Hello and welcome!!

I'm Breven (you clicked on me to get in here, probably), and I'm just another one of those 30-somethings that grew up making little web pages back in the 90s and 2000s. In my case, I usually did this poorly and without any real knowledge (I was about 9 when I made my first attempt?? lmao), but now that I'm a grown-ass adult, I'm giving personal web sites a try again. I've picked up a few things here and there re: web development, but I'm always learning, and always tweaking and changing things...

That being said: This site is always under construction!

What can you expect from Not Now Mother? I'm glad you asked... In addition to the usual personal site stuff (a bio, an interests page, a toybox, graphics collections, et cetera), I want to make some experimental art and poetry pages here! I want to incorporate the unique things you can do in a digital environment to evoke feelings and shit in the viewer. You know??

Site News

3.30.2026 - Fiddled with some more things, including moving the Link Back and Links Out sections over to the Links page where they belong! I also fixed that they were images coming from imgur, oops--they're now local to my site! I will also be sifting through my Neocities profile and looking for any button updates on sites I already have, or new folks I've missed. I'm always down to link trade, let me know on my Neocities profile if you'd like to do a swap :3
3.29.2026 - Added a favicon, fiddled with the list style bullets for the navigation and regular lists, and added some things to the Cyberpets page, including a new section on Starluck's SweetWater Valley! It's small at the moment but I'm hoping that with some digging, I can find some additional stuff eventually. Still have not made this section scrollable :')
3.22.2026 - IT'S ME AGAIN... Thank you to the dear visitors who signed the guest book, and for telling me about the Imgur-based images being broken in certain locales! I've gone ahead and replaced these images (as far as I can tell/remember) with locally-hosted files ^_^ Next, I plan to do some clean-ups... I'd like to make this little news thing a scrollable text box, I want to fix the site's responsiveness on mobile, hmm, HMM... I want to update my LINKS because I have delicious friends here now that I want to link to...!! I will be doing all this and posting tiny, miniscule updates to my neocities profile because I don't currently have a flow that lets me update without doing that. I'm sure that's commonplace but I will be slightly self-conscious about it nonetheless. FAREWELL!!
3.21.2026 - HI... I'M ALIVE AND I WANT TO WORK ON THIS... I added a hit counter but also I have lots of other things I want to fiddle with. Sorry in advance for all the nonsense saves as I test things, lol.
5.28.2022 -- Added the barest bit of info to the About page as a placeholder. I'm also behind on returning some linkbacks and Neocities messages, so thanks for your patience!

Also, I've added some new Links down at the bottom of this page--I won't be adding a news item each time I add these, as right now I'm adding more frequently! Yeehaw!!
Minor updates to some site language as well--including the intro paragraph on this home page. woo!!
5.20.2022 -- ~~Still haven't fixed the nav bar...~~ I FIXED THE NAV BAR!! :D
EDIT:And apparently broke the splash page... 8') AND just noticed my title gifs are missing... Damn lol...
ALSO I added some of my Dragon Cave dragons ~~to the bottom of the Cyberpets page~~ I went ahead and split these out into a Toy Box, since that's what everyone seems to call them these days! Oh--and I've been collecting more Links for the bottom of this Home page to other cool sites with layouts/graphics/themes I enjoy. There's just so much cool stuff out here, I love it! :3c
5.16.2022 -- I didn't like the top nav layout, so I tried converting it to a sidebar... I think my stylesheet needs an overhaul because now things aren't sitting right -_- Sit tight, I fix eet somehow...
5.11.2022 -- A bitch has a navbar!! Now complete with more empty links than you could ever want, oh boy! The only other page right now is Cyberpets but you should still check it out.
5.10.2022 -- Added new cyberpet graphics to the Cyberpets page, aw yiss
